Gagglegoose Green Art Christmas cards
The original artworks for these quirky, comical and wonderfully detailed Christmas cards were painted by my dad, John Bird.
Dad was a remarkably talented self-taught artist, born and bred in Shepherd's Bush, West London. He was a true Londoner, with a fondness for both QPR and traditional pie and mash. For many years he showcased his art on the renowned Bayswater Road railings, just opposite Lancaster Gate tube station. He would tell us stories of all the celebrities he encountered but he took particular pride in selling his works to former Liverpool and England footballer Kevin Keegan and actor David Suchet.
Later Dad moved to the New Forest where he finally settled in Lymington.
Cards measure either 7" x 5" or 6" x 4" (A6), are blank inside and come with a white envelope.
The transparent wrapping is made from compostable and biodegradable vegetable starch.
